Riverwalk at Studio City: A Proposed Development Along Ventura Boulevard

By Jack Misraje · April 10, 2026 · 1 min read

Hi neighbors,

We wanted to share information about a proposed development project called Riverwalk at Studio City, planned along the Ventura Boulevard corridor near the Los Angeles River.

What is being proposed?

Riverwalk is a mixed-use development that would include residential housing, retail spaces, and open areas intended for public use. The project aims to create a more connected environment between Ventura Blvd and the LA River, with a combination of living, shopping, and community space.

Who is behind the project?

The site has been owned and operated since the 1980s by RC Development Inc. and Torino Companies, who are now leading the redevelopment effort. They are working with Genton Property Group (development) and MVE + Partners (design). The project is being reviewed by the City of Los Angeles Planning Department.

Current status

The project is currently under formal review with the City of Los Angeles and has not yet been approved. It is going through the standard entitlement and approval process for developments of this scale, including requests related to density and design.

Case number: CPC-2025-5697-DB-PR-SPPC-MCUP-VHCA

What this could mean for the neighborhood

If approved, the project would introduce new housing, retail, and open space to the area. As with most large developments, it may also bring changes related to traffic, density, and overall neighborhood character.
